Precaution: Important Part of The Journey Part 2

In travelling, you do not only meet new people but also encounter different animals. Insects are small animals that you will come across without even noticing it, and one of the many insect breeds that are most common are the mosquitoes. Mosquitoes are pests that might be carrying harmful diseases that can be transmitted to humans in the process of their feeding. Mosquitoes, most especially females, have mouth parts that can pierce through skin.

The most communicable disease acquired by a mosquito bite or also known as vector-borne disease is Malaria. Malaria is a serious disease affecting travellers in places with warm climates like tropical countries. If bitten by a malaria-carrier mosquito, a person experiences flu-like symptoms and immediate medical attention is needed to prevent fatality.

Anti-malarial drugs are treatments for the symptoms of Malaria. As stated by Canadian Travel Health Clinics "Anti-malarial drugs are very successful in all cases of complete cures of Malaria symptoms, especially if infection is identified early. The longer infection remains untreated, the greater the risk of treatment complications".

In Canada the number of Malaria cases has declined over time with its peak during the year of 1997. Canadian Government has been effective in carrying-out Malaria preventive measures for Canadians travelling domestically or internationally. People can take preventive measures by using mosquito repellants, wearing long sleeves or long pants or clothing that will prevent mosquitoes from getting to your skin, staying indoors if possible during times where mosquitoes are mostly active and covering all gaps on windows or doors to prevent mosquitoes from entering where you are staying.

Malaria is a common treat to travellers. You will never know that it hit you already until you see the symptoms. Communicable Diseases are frightful matters that should be taken care of immediately. The cases of Hepatitis and Malaria in Canada shows that Hepatitis C is the most common but people should always take precautions in everything.

Precautions are very important in travelling. Being careless sometimes will make your experience not very likeable. In travelling, people will experience many things and not all are happy ones. I advise that a person should always look after himself/herself because no one can do that better than yourself. Taking preventive measures will surely give a very happy and memorable trip.
