It's been years now since the last time we were in Queensland, Australia. I have been there twice. The first time was just a vacation for a month with my dad and the second time was when my family decided to move there last 2008 to start a new life. You would see me smiling every time, with the mere mention of Australia. Memories of the places I have been in, people I have been with and events that are unforgettable will come back to my mind instantly. When we're still there, every week, my brother and I will be guessing and eager to know where we are heading for that weekend. We will go to different tourist destinations, theme parks, and also visit relatives and family friends.

Australia is known for many things, not just the Opera House in Sydney but also for their beautiful beaches, theme parks, big servings of food and sports. My fondest memory is when my family and I went to Movie World, though comparing to other theme parks, it stands out with its thrilling rides. Until now, you will still see my excitement in sharing what rides I bravely went to ride there.

My favourite beach in Australia is in Gold Coast, an hour drive from our place, it is famous for its fine white sand and a good place to go surfing. You will see a lot of people walking and sunbathing under the oh so bright and hot sun. You will see a lot of restaurants beside the beach and many malls where people go strolling and shopping. At night the beach side turns into a long street of night clubs where people go party 'til they drop. It is indeed a tourist destination.

Another memorable experience for me in Australia is to witness the River Fire Festival in South Bank, Brisbane. A yearly celebration that has a variety of performances that differs every year but the most awaited part are the pyrotechnic and aerial show. It will somehow bring you to tears because you will be amazed and be proud that you were able to witness the show.

There is a lot to look forward to in Australia. I really want to share more of what I had experienced there, maybe on my next blog I will be able to tell some more. :) It was an amazing experience. I'm thankful that I was able to see and enjoy my stay there even in a short period of time. I cherish every day of my stay there and hopefully one day I'll have the chance to go there again. :)
You are so lucky! My dream vacation has always been to go to Australia ever since I was a little girl (mainly because I was such a huge Steve Irwin fan). My sister married an Australian, so I hope to one day visit and stay over at his family's place in Canberra. Great post!
ReplyDeleteWow that sounds like it was amazing to live in Australia! You must miss it a lot, especially with this crazy weather Calgary is getting. Was it hard for you to go to school each day knowing a beautiful beach or exciting theme park wasn't too far away? I know I'd have trouble with that! I look forward to reading more about what you experienced during you time living in Australia!
